Golden Cup (Ukiah, 165 Acres)
Golden Cup Homestead is a 160-acre retreat and educational farm in Ukiah, CA-part forest sanctuary, part working homestead, hosting workshops in organic farming, permaculture, biodynamics, forestry, natural building, movement therapy, breathwork, and spiritual retreat.
Here to Know About This Project
Rustic & Wilderness First
Golden Cup is intentionally simple—expect rustic dwellings, composting and outdoor baths, and limited or no cell reception. The design invites guests into a slower rhythm, where the forest itself becomes the teacher.
Programs & Pathways
Visitors can join retreats, participate in work-trade learning, or attend faith-based workshops. Each program is built to blend spiritual grounding with practical skills like farming, building, and cooperative living.
On-Site Features
The land is rich with character: a cob sauna, ancient madrones, a handcrafted gazebo, a tucked-away treehouse, and over six miles of trails. These elements are more than amenities—they embody the craft, creativity, and stewardship of those who built them.
Participation & Booking
Engagement comes through booking retreats, registering for workshops, or applying for scholar residencies. Each pathway is designed to give people hands-on experiences while supporting the long-term stewardship of the 160 acres.
Project Requirement
Safety & Fire Protocols — Follow all wilderness and fire-safety guidelines; briefings are required.
Sacred Rhythm — Participate in the daily 3-6-9 rhythm of prayer, service, and reflection.
Low-Impact Living — Composting toilets, solar systems, and no pesticides or chemicals.
Work-Trade or Program — Join through an apprenticeship, retreat, or residency to access facilities.
Respect for Land & Culture — Honor the forest, water, and sacred spaces with leave-no-trace care.
Analysis & Planning
Site Assets: 160 acres of diverse forest, clean water springs and creek, 6+ miles of trails, multiple artisan structures, and sacred groves for reflection.
Operational Plan: A blend of seasonal scholar residencies, work-trade participants, and retreat guests provide both labor and income.
Educational Pathways: Permaculture design courses, biodynamic farming, forestry management, natural building, and contemplative wellness.
Community Integration: Programming serves local Ukiah families while also drawing nomads, apprentices, and spiritual pilgrims into a shared rhythm.
Long-Term Vision: To anchor Golden Cup as a West Coast EcoNomad hub that demonstrates how sacred rhythm and regenerative design can scale across projects
"This farm provides the freshest produce we've ever tasted. Their attention to detail and commitment to sustainability are impressive."
